I really like driving my mum’s 2017 CR-V. It’s comfy, pretty quick, huge inside, and gets decent fuel economy. Whenever I start looking for a responsible family vehicle, I’d consider one.

I didn't completely hate my parents new Highlander.

How’s the NVH? I’ve heard CRVs are loud. Then again, you daily a FiST, so maybe anything’s quieter

Nothing unbearable. I’m taking it on a highway drive tomorrow and on Saturday, so I can give a better opinion then.
It is, however, better than my FiST.

It’s the same reason driving my mom’s X6 is nice. Big, comfy, decent power, & the rear bias awd makes for easy skids.

Those convenient vehicles are temptresses of DEVIL , I tell ya!

I have been informed that Matsudah Cee Exx Five is the holy grail of crossovers and only one allowed to be explicitly liked on car forums.

I drove a 2017 CR-V last summer because my friends were all drinking and needed a ride to get food. After spending about 10 hours in my tiny Fiat, I got in that CR-V and thought "I could get used to this."

agree - very functional vehicle for a good price. AWD LX for 27k with the NA 2.4 motor.

This is what daily-ing a FiST does to you, CoFL

I love my wife’s 2018 GMC Terrain Denali. It’s quick, the 9 speed is the first auto I don’t thoroughly despise, and it’s quite comfy (I’ve been loving the heated seats this winter).

Hey, you picked the small SUV over the FiST for your Portland meet. I get a free pass.

lol. Fair point. Because I wanted to listen to an audiobook on the way down, not the grooves of the I-5

What’s that? I can’t hear you over the sound of this sweet FiST I drive! And engine noise! And wind noise! Tire noise! That weird ticking noise the fan makes!

All I know is I rode from Pasco Wa to Bellingham in my brother’s during a snowstorm when I got stranded by an airline. The pass closed right behind us and the snowplows weren’t keeping up,but that cx5 kicked ass!

My father in law has a ‘17 CR-V. The thing is a fucking Tardis. It’s basically the same size as my Foreser but feels twice as spacious inside.

The squeaking of the plastics, the creaks of my passenger seat.

I like my cousins Rav4 for similar reasons. It’s okay.

This is how I feel about my Element. Which I am looking to replace within a year since I need a 5th seat.

The CR-V isn’t exciting but it’s a hell of a lot of vehicle for the price. It’s big inside compared to competitors , comfortable enough (the front seats are really nice) , has enough power to to not feel slow but still get great fuel economy, handles competently enough (more steering feel than some other small crossovers but I wouldn’t call it sporty), has good ergonomics, is easy to see out of, has decent tech features and should basically keep running forever. You can definitely put 5 people comfortably in a CR-V and probably fit 3 car seats in the back which I definitely can not do in my Forester. (I put 2 kids and one adult in the back for half an hour once and it was rough on all of them.) I still prefer the Forester because despite having less room, worse seats and burning oil, I prefer it’s sportier ride/handling and manual transmission (which has gone away with the new generation sadly). But I can see why they sell a ton of CR-Vs. They are great cars and what I recommend to people who ask what small crossover to buy.

So true. Drove 2 different Sante Fe’s in the past little while and was like “wow, normal people cars kick ass!”
